Surfing in Popoyo Nicaragua
Popoyo Nicaragua is a quickly emerging surf destination. Warm water reefs, points, and beachbreaks all groomed by consistent swell and offshore winds create an easy travel choice. We invite you to stay at NicaWaves, a beautiful and tranquil 6 acre property with quick access to Nicaragua’s crown gem, the machine-like A-frame peak of Popoyo. We have clean, air-conditioned rooms and houses, a restaurant, and a dorm style sleeping area all conveniently located here on our safe and secure property. We also provide many services you may need: airport transfers, boat trips, board rentals, surf photography, and transportation to the local breaks. On-site massage and horseback riding along nearby deserted beaches are also available. We are located in Popoyo proper, which means a quick walk to the wave without having to cross the river from Guasacate. More surfing options within walking distance include the area’s most consistent beachbreak, Playa Santana, the beautiful pink sand beach and hollow point of Playa Rosada, and a couple other secret spots.
Surf Board Rentals
We have a large variety of surf boards for rent in Popoyo. If you’re considering renting a surf board in Nica, rest easy, we’ve got you covered. Our well-maintained boards offer a sensible alternative to paying increasing airline baggage fees. Boards are available for $10/day or $60/weekly. Send us an email for more information on surfboard sizes and availability. Also available for rent are several rugged mountain bikes outfitted with carver surf racks.

Flat Miami surf has once again driven me to take another quick visit. I’m heading down to your area next week. I’ll get in on Thursday the 24th and be there through Memorial Day (leaving Monday). I’m heading down with my friend Kim. Any chance you have a room available? I’ll also rent my standard 6’1″ or 6’2″ board if you have it available. Hope you’re doing well and very much looking forward to the trip.

That was the best surf camp I have ever been too… Food was superb, excellent accommodations, rental boards and a truck…
With Mike’s suggestion my mates and I took a boat trip and I have one of my top 10 rides of my life…

Thanks for the hospitality. You rent great boards and it’s not even worth it to fly a board to Nicaragua because you offer good equipment at reasonable prices. Couldn’t have asked for a better vacation!! NicaWaves staff are all great, everything about my stay was awesome. It was hard to leave! But I will be returning as soon as I can. Surfed everyday except one, which was to rest!! Many thanks to you Mike!!! You and those local surfers, as well as visitors to Popoyo are truly blessed to enjoy those waves!! I feel blessed to have visited such a wonderful place!

The green room is a cosy place for 2, but should be called the wave room for its new decoration !!
