Playa Popoyo Nicaragua Surf Report October 20

Popoyo had glassy and small yet fun waves coming in this morning with sets around shoulder high. Only our 4 guests, a couple from New Zealand and a couple from Colorado were out. Light onshore winds came up mid-morning. Sunny weather continues. Two nights ago we had the first substantial rain in October. Usually October is the rainiest month, and a lot of local farmers are experiencing substantial losses after planting their crops in hopes of a typical rainy October. This month last year was also abnormally dry, then we experienced heavy rains the first week of November. We´ll have to see what the next couple weeks have in store for us.

WOW – just perusing your webpage sent to me by my son and am thrilled to read such “hot off the press” news including the fact that Kahn and Sammy are there with another couple from Colorado and enjoying some fun waves. Most impressed with such current info on what looks like an amazing little spot. Awesome – and thanks – better try getting there myself one day. Cheers – from Kahn’s mum in Vietnam.
